Subversive activities by head of U.S. Interest Section in Cuba

THE U.S. Interest Section in Cuba constitutes a vital element in U.S. subversion on the island and is an operations command post for those ends.

This was revealed by Manuel Hevia, director of the State Security Historical Studies Center, invited to the Cuban TV Roundtable this Monday to analyze the anti-diplomatic conduct of Mr. James Cason, head of the U.S. Interest Section in Havana for the last six months.

Before discussing the diplomat’s activities in Cuba, Hevia questioned the U.S. government for allowing its diplomatic facilities to be used for meetings with traitors in its service, individuals whom it promotes, instigates and pay for spying, conspiring and committing sabotage with no scruples or the least respect for the law.

He offered evidence of Cason’s meddling and provocative behavior. For example, the U.S. functionary openly stated that his objective was to accelerate the process towards a democratic Cuba, extending his support to anyone contributing to such a transition.

This was the position distinguishing his systematically interventionist position vis-à-vis dozens of traitors from local counterrevolutionary groups, before even soliciting a meeting with the Ministry of Foreign Relations.

Hevia explained that only a few days upon his arrival in Havana, Cason began to use his official residence for internal meetings of counterrevolutionary leaders, an unprecedented action on the part of a diplomatic corps accredited in Cuba.

Among some of the functionary’s provocations, he held a cocktail party for a group of 16 dissidents, in which he announced his intention to implement the Bush doctrine with respect to the Caribbean nation.

In an open flouting of the legitimate government constituted by the express will of the immense majority of Cubans, he emphasized the importance of that meeting by considering those present as future leaders of a democratic Cuba.

In other gatherings even more interventionist and disrespectful in nature, Cason has pressed for details on vacationers from the former Socialist bloc and the United States. (AIN)
